This novella has been on my TBR list for a while and the ebook is only 99 cents today. Definitely snagging it! 😊
And hey, it fits today #octphotochallenge
This series is exactly what my brain needs to relax these days.
Also the audiobooks are narrated by the wonderful Kathleen Kellgren.

Found this little beauty at the local independent bookstore.
"Featuring hard-to-find short stories published between 1873 and 1930"
Couldn't resist!?
#TBRTuesday
Let's look at the bright side: this annoying cold might make it difficult to breathe, but at least I have the perfect excuse to spend the evening curled up in bed with a book. (Or two.) 😷📚🍵
This was my first horror. I have honestly forgotten most of plot, but clearly remember the atmosphere, the feelings of danger and uneasy I got from reading it.🍂🍂

Nice short mystery with an intriguing scifi premise (it is Scalzi, after all): what if almost every time you murder someone they don't stay dead, but wake up alive and in their homes?
P.S.: at the moment it's free on audible
I backed the People of Color Destroy Science fiction Kickstarter by Lightspeed magazine and as a reward I got a lovely pile of back issues of Lightspeed, together with the Destroy series.📚❤️
This is a review of issue 57 (not on #litsy).
Really cool issue! I really enjoyed 'And you shall know her by the trail of dead' by Brooke Bolander, 'Red Planet' by Caroline M. Yoachim and Elizabeth Bear's novella.
The gorgeous art is by Julie Dillion.😍
That was fun!
Cozy mystery set in 1930s London. The murderer was fairly easy to guess, but I still enjoyed it. The strength of the book was in the setting and the main character Georgie, aka Lady Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie.⭐️⭐️⭐️🔍👑
Fun, old school scifi adventure. Loved the Turtles and would like to read more about them. The only negative point for me was that the plot moved so fast, I barely had time to get to know the main characters. I will probably give the next one in the series a try.
Did not like this one much. It's well written and I enjoyed the last quarter of it, however I have trouble caring for scheming, selfish characters and the lack of a plot for the majority of the book did not help. For me it would have worked better as a novella. 😕
Loved it. Such great stories: so many different worlds and ideas, interesting characters and lovely writing. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Some non fiction for today #septphotochallenge.
It's quite the mixed bag as I don't really have a favourite sub genre.😊

Two of my favourite classics. Tolkien was love at first reading, while that particular book by Calvino took a second reading to appreciate fully. 📚❤️❤️

Some bookstore love as well. This is Ateneo in Buenos Aires. It is a theatre converted to bookstore with a café on the stage.?

For yesterday #septphotochallenge. I don't live in New York, bit I'm a big fan of the NY Public library podcast. Would be great to be able to attend one of their lectures!

Two books on my TBR that are set in Asia, or to be precise alternative versions of Asia. Look forward to reading them!!

#septphotochallenge: books turned into movies. Chose two of my favourites❤️❤️❤️

It is so easy to find #uglycovers in SFF books, especially slightly older ones. The Vorkosigan saga is classic example. At least for me.😋

Lots of great independent bookstores in Boston. This is my favourite. ⭐️⭐️⭐️📚

I don't seem to have that many books that make me cry. Or is it that I forget about them? This one however is unforgettable. My poor, poor Kivrin!

Day 4 of the #septphotochallenge
Two books by POC authors that I am really looking forward to read!!

Back home from a fun weekend visiting Montreal. I am a few days behind with the #septphotochallenge though!
Here is Day 3: some nice short stories and tea & cookies after the flight home.

This is one is on my TBR list. 📚
Looking forward to it!

I think this was my favourite read from August. Unexpected, since I'm not usually the biography type, but it touches on so many interest subjects: suffragette history, British colonialism, the history of India and more.

So much fun! Witty dialogue, engaging plot and an abundance of parasols, top hats and tea. What more could you want?⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved the world building and characters. But especially loved the city, can I visit Alt Coulomb?
TBR Tuesday. Tonight Jo Walton and Ada Palmer were reading from their latest books @ Harvard Book Store. Really enjoyed it! This was the predictable result😁📚
Pallas Athene decides to run an experiment: pick some philosophers and classicists from various times in history, add children and a few robots and let them create a real version of Plato's Republic. What happens? A really awesome book.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fun Friday Photo, the audiobook version. This is my book of choice when I am stressed and need something fun and happy. Kate Reading does such an amazing job narrating it!!
Fun Friday Photo! I love this novella so much. I left the hard copy at my parents' house when I moved out and ended up buying the ebook on a day when I just NEEDED to re-read it. 😁
Both 'The Best of All Possible Worlds' and 'Americanah' were some of my favourite reads from 2015. The rest are TBR.📚 #DiversityFriday
TBR Tuesday! Or at least the books that are on my nightstand. There are also the ones below my nightstand. And on the Kindle. 😅😅😂📚📚
Perfect Saturday lunch with one of Malvaldi's funny mystery novels, or 'gialli' as we call them in Italian. 💛
#FunFridayPhotoTime The first book that came to mind when I thought about favourite endings. I tear up every time I (re)read that last line.❤️❤️
Awesome short story by Seanan McGuire!!💜 Still have to read the other fiction in the issue, but the essays on 'Labyrinth' were really cool too. Particularly enjoyed the one by Sarah Monette.
Nothing new if you follow the sf/f online community, but still worth the reading. Kameron Hurley pulls no punches and her essays are definitely thought provoking. Even when you agree with her. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Catapult.co covers are so pretty!! 💚They never fail to grab my attention. The blurbs praising Michelle de Kretser by Ursula LeGuin and A.S. Byatt did not hurt either...
