so-soI‘m a touch conflicted here. I liked Marty a lot, I enjoyed learning a bit more about rodeo, and several scenes moved me to tears—but the thing is, I cried because I was upset that these awful situations happen in general, not because they happened to these particular characters. I often wanted Chase to go deeper with her characterization.
Still, I enjoyed the setup well enough that I‘d read the sequels, if the opportunity arose.
Alas, Laini Taylor‘s debut and I didn‘t work out. I‘ve switched to PICKUP MEN by L.C. Chase. It‘s my first rodeo romance and I‘m ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED to learn that women who like rodeo stars are called buckle bunnies. Talk about adorable.
