Monstress: Book One | 
pickI read v. 1 of Monstress 4 yrs ago. I recall enjoying it, if feeling a bit confused. When I heard about book 1,which collects vol. 1-3, I immediately grabbed it at the library I am hard pressed to think of another gn that so seamlessly blends seemingly disparate elements into one work. This is a real genre-bender: equally at home in grimdark fantasy & cosmic horror. The artwork & storytelling are both fantastic. The story becomes clearer as it
vivastory (cont.) progresses. This is one where they drop you into the world & you have to figure things out from there, but the payoff is def. worth it. More, please! 4y
LazyOwl I had a similar experience with this. My first read through was a bit confusing, but gave it another go sometime later and loved it. 4y
