Great for Disney fans but lots of old news for followers of doombuggies.com, this detailed account of the development and execution (👀) of the Haunted Mansion is a real treat! It's slightly outdated now but still enjoyable. Lots of information from the Imagineers involved and an in depth description of the rides themselves. Grim grinning ghosts do indeed come out to socialize! 👻😁 Clearly, this is my favorite ride!

IamIamIam @JoScho 🤣👻 Theme Park Press has a great selection of subjects! This was my 2nd and I have 2 more to read. One is Disney's involvement in the NY World's Fair and the other is about Epcot and its development!! 4y

Non-fiction isn‘t my usual genre. But this topic is so near and dear to my heart. I think I‘d move into the haunted mansion if I could. I love it that much.

This book taught me a lot about the haunted mansion‘s cofounders and origins. I will have a new respect for it the next time I visit. Any hard core haunted mansion fan needs to read this book.

LinesUponAPage I‘ve got to read this book! My DIL worked at Disney World as an intern they let them wander the Haunted Mansion with the lights on while it was being cleaned and she said it was so fascinating to be able to take time to see all the different objects, what significance they had to Walt and the workers who designed, created and built the ride and structure. Does this book cover anything like that? (edited) 5y
Cathyloves2read Yes, parts of the book did focus a bit on that. It explained the characters, and why they were chosen. I think the hatbox ghost is my favorite, and I didn‘t even know about him until I read this book. It also gets into detail about how some of the special effects Awww done. I used this book hand in hand with YouTube. I looked at videos while reading certain parts. I really liked it! 5y
