Shay grew up on the grimy streets of Cincinnati, Ohio, where love and loyalty can lead to tragic betrayal. Determined to not be a product of her environment, she kept her grades up and was on her way to graduate; but when her biggest advocate was suddenly killed before the ceremony, it turned Shay's world upside down. The streets became divided over the mysterious death, and all fingers were pointing at Shay's newfound love, accusing him of being the killer. With trust in her new love interest fading, Shay unknowingly finds herself in the bed of a hired hitman who is willing to do anything for her but has skeletons of his own. Dirty secrets and ulterior motives make it impossible to know what to believe and reveals the painful truth about Shay's friendship with the one-person she thought had her back, changing her for the worst. She quickly learns that no one can be trusted, and in the end, choosing a side is harder than she could have ever imagined.
