Infused with cutting-edge nanotechnology, Bloodshot's nanites make him a nearly unstoppable killing machine. His enhanced strength, speed, endurance, and healing make him the perfect weapon, and he serves his masters at PRS very well. But after defying his programming and escaping his captors, Bloodshot will fight to rediscover the secret of his true identity and expose the billion dollar black-bag operation that created him once and for all. This was a random library find. Bloodshot is essentially an indestructible government soldier who is sent around the world on secret missions. One day, due to a glitch, he realizes that he has been living a series of false memories. He has not been promoting peace/democracy but has been just a tool for the government. The subsequent body count is in some ways typical, but the consistent critique of government propaganda when it comes to (CONT)

vivastory international relations/power balance & the true motivations of those in power is well-balanced. After finishing I noticed that Matt Kindt was one of the writers. Kindt created one of my favorite graphic novel series of all-time: Mind MGMT. This is an interesting turn for Kindt. Bloodshot is Deadpool minus a sense of humor, but more politically aware. 2w
TieDyeDude I wish the Valiant universe was more prominent, especially with DC and Marvel far from their peak days. I haven't gone deep into Valiant, but I've read a fair amount of Bloodshot, Shadowman, and Faith, and I've really enjoyed what I've read. 2w
vivastory @TieDyeDude I don't read any Marvel at all really. Most of the DC I read is Black label, which I like quite a bit. I will def check out the other Valiant titles you mentioned This was the first. If you haven't read Mind MGMT I def recommend! 1w

Pickpick

Ok, if I were to read this a second time I would probably have to give a so-so on story but I'm too hooked on the premise to dissect it that much right now. I did not expect Bloodshot to be as sympathetic and selfless as he turns out to be and was pleasantly surprised by this. The art for the first several issues wasn't great, but the rest... Whoa 🤩
I will definitely eventually be down the rabbit hole of the Valiant comics universe he inhabits

I saw the preview for the movie starring Vin Diesel. Of course I was going to check out the graphic novel behind it. So far so good.
A soldier is resurrected with nannites that give him enhanced speed, strength, reflexes, a powerful healing factor, and more. Once he learns that his creators messed with his memory and used him for a number of horrific missions he turns on them and embarks on a search for the truth about his past identity.
