Orphans of the Tide | 
pickThe story starts with a whale sprawled across the rooftops of a mostly sunken city…and yeah, that opening hooked me right away. I really enjoyed this middle grade fantasy, the first in a series, about a girl, a mysterious stranger, and a rag tag group of friends who must stop a terrible evil from returning. The writing is great, the characters intriguing and the promise of more is very exciting. On sale 12/14/21.
