A collection of separate mini stories linked together by the characters who all live in one apartment block in 1980s Ukraine. A lot of the book is dark, circumstances are harrowing & life precarious. There's so many layers to this book - new wealth, disaster tourism, living in a police state, freedom and democracy - & how to navigate a path through it all. Its a slim volume which I want to start again & im sure more layers will reveal themselves.
