Set in 2018 a serial killer is new to the scene, diagnosed with a *killer* illness he is now taking on the duty of the Angel of Death. Chicago BJE officer Czarcik must go above authority to apprehend him. What could have been an easy end to it all turns into a mind game, left with somewhat of a predictable ending.
While the story was okay, I feel it could have been wrote a lot better.

This is a debut novel from Thomas Holgate. It is kinda different. The protagonist is kinda rough around the edges and villain is a sympathetic character in a mission of justice after a diagnosis of terminal brain cancer. Descriptions of violence committed are brutal and may not appeal to everyone. In general I had fun reading this, and believe this is a strong start to a bright novel writing future for Thomas Holgate
