Lay Down the Law | Linda Castillo
1 post | 1 read
Working together to keep a deputy safe sparks an intense attraction in New York Times bestselling author Linda Castillos classic tale of romantic suspense After nine years as one of Chicagos finest, Erin McNeal has come to sleepy Logan Falls for a second chance, not to be watched over by a man as infuriatingly overprotectiveand disarmingly attractiveas Nick Ryan. Shes no damsel in distress, but someone wants her dead, and its his duty to protect her. Whether she likes it or not. Before long, though, this chief of police and his newest deputy are butting heads over every detail of the investigation. And it seems the only thing they can agree on is the one thing they cant resisteach other. Originally published in 2001 as Cops andLovers?

Mehso-so

I‘m a fan of Castillo‘s Kate Burkholder series, but this earlier stand alone Harlequin is just okay. Big city cop makes a mistake and small town sheriff reluctantly hires her to help her get back on her feet. It‘s not a hate to love, maybe more a I-don‘t-trust-you to love situation. They both have issues and can‘t keep their hands off each other. I liked it enough to read in one sitting. 🤷🏼‍♀️ #TripleSpin for May

TheAromaofBooks Great review!! I've really enjoyed the Kate Burkholder series as well, but haven't tried any of Castillo's other books ... or even checked to see if she has any! 5y
Bookzombie @TheAromaofBooks Thanks! It‘s one of my favorite series. I have read a few others and they are mostly Harlequin or Harlequin like. I have one more on May‘s bookspin list that I own. 🙂 5y
