Samaritan | Mason Cross
7 posts | 7 read | 2 to read
A sadistic serial killer has been operating undetected for a decade, preying on lone female drivers whose cars have broken down. The press dub the killer 'the Samaritan, ' but with no leads and a killer who leaves no traces the police investigation quickly grinds to a halt That's when Carter Blake shows up to volunteer his services. He's a skilled manhunter with an uncanny ability to predict the Samaritan's next moves. At first, Allen and her colleagues are suspicious. After all, their new ally shares some uncomfortable similarities to the man they're tracking. But as the Samaritan takes his slaughter to the next level, Blake must find a way to stop him . . . even if it means bringing his own past crashing down on top of him. "

Pickpick

While I'm impatiently waiting for midnight so I can open my #SFFS box, I decided to finish my current audio book and enjoy one of my favorite beers. Founders really does it right. I'm enjoying Mason Cross' Carter Blake series so far. The Samaritan was a great follow up to The Killing Season. This time someone from Blake's past is behind a series of brutal murders. Can he stop the Samaritan before he kills again, or will he become the next victim?

Pickpick

I rattled through this thriller at the weekend and as 2nd in the series i felt that i got a bit more about carter blakes back story as he finds himself investigating a serial killer in LA who has a striking resemblance to someone he knew whilst in special ops. Good page turner.

#signedsundays I love crime/thrillers but I don't enjoy reading crime novels in Scotland or England as I can't stand the dialogue. So it's a great to read a Scottish crime author with his books set in US. I didn't realise he was Scottish until I looked into buying the second book. I love this signed edition particularly because it's the US publication 📚❤️

HijackMe What about the dialogue does bother you, if it's not too impolite too ask? 🤔 8y
DeborahSmall @HijackMe the accents kill me, I'm from Glasgow and don't like reading dialogue with the slang Glaswegian or Edinburgh accents. Same goes for books based in London. I tried a Martina Cole novel and lasted 3 pages it was all cockney dialogue.... 8y
