Oh no no no. I love Hannah Moscowitz, but just no.
I read an essay about Dirty Dancing as feminist film, but this was just nothing like I expected. The characters were flat, and the story felt disjointed. Honestly, I skimmed most of it.

It's a queer Dirty Dancing retelling with gender swaps! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Current situation.
Really enjoying this modern retelling of DIRTY DANCING so far! And kiddo enjoys throwing all of his bath toys out of the (dry) tub, then throwing them back into the tub, then climbing back into the tub to start the whole process over again! A pleasant Monday morning all around.
(Fwiw, he does name every letter/number out loud before he yeets it ;)

The thing I never pictured about sex was how much laughing there would be.
3.5/5⭐ The way the author translated the original Dirty Dancing to contemporary Jewish, queer, and race issues was done so well. Important issues balanced well with a very sweet romance & compelling coming-of-age/coming out story. There's a lot of great stuff going on in this little book.
The book desperately needed a proofreader to catch major errors like misnamed characters, incorrect pronouns, etc.
