Takedown: A Thriller | Brad Thor
6 posts | 12 read | 2 to read
After years without a terrorist attack on American soil, one group has picked the 4th of July weekend to pull out all the stops. In a perfectly executed attack, all of the bridges and tunnels leading into and out of Manhattan are destroyed just as thousands of commuters begin their holiday exodus. With domestic efforts focused on search and rescue, a deadly team of highly trained foreign soldiers methodically makes its way through the city with the singular objective of locating one of their own -- a man so powerful that America will do anything to keep him hidden. Scot Harvath is now the country's only hope. Fighting his way through the burning streets of Manhattan, he must mount his own operation to locate a man the United States government refuses to admit even exists.

Pickpick

After capturing an al Quadra bomb-maker in Canada, Scot Harvath heads to New York for the July 4th weekend. While he is catching up with an old friend, a terrorist attack on all the bridges and tunnels isolates Manhattan. There‘s a lot going on here, and I don‘t want to spoil it for anyone. It‘s very well paced and the plotting is quite intricate. However, there are a few minor in the plot for anyone that knows Manhattan. Still, it‘s a great read.

This is the 5th book in the Scot Harvath series by Brad Thor, and is another page turner! Scot has some time off for the July 4th weekend, after bringing in a terror suspect, and has plans to celebrate with a friend in NYC. But there‘s an attack in New York larger than 9/11, and suddenly Scot and his friend are trying to catch the terrorists responsible. Fast paced thriller, with plenty of violence, blood and gore. Reader beware. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

My position hasn‘t changed, but I‘ve switched my iced coffee for a “Bohtini”, which is a beer rimmed with Old Bay. It‘s a Maryland thing and is supposed to be a Natty Boh, but I‘m using a Key Brewing Mexican Lager called “All Days Off,” which is pretty appropriate and delicious with the Old Bay seasoning. ❤️🍺

Susanita Bohtini? I‘ll have to try that! 5y

SundayFunday! It‘s a lazy Sunday after a very busy (but fun) Saturday. The lawn needs to be mowed, but we are ignoring that today. It can wait until tomorrow. My book, my iced coffee and my porch are just perfect on this gorgeous day! 😊📚❤️☀️

Happy Sunday night! Where did the weekend go? Father‘s Day celebrations over, the dishes are done, the kids are in bed (2 more days of school!), hubby is watching a favorite show, so now there‘s time for me to read. 🙂❤️📚

Happy Father‘s Day to all Litsy dads!

Jumping right into the next in this series because the library had it available now. The plot takes place over the July 4th weekend, so this is pretty good timing! 🙂❤️📚🎆🇺🇸
