Mark Lanegan, ex Screaming Trees singer, sometime member of Queens of the Stone Age, solo artist and raconteur delivers one of the most harrowing ‘my life and music‘ memoirs I‘ve ever read including a 35 page chapter describing a European tour that sees him hunting down drugs in three different countries, getting robbed, going into the DTs and seizing on the streets without nary a mention of music song or performance

Terrifying

Seattle‘s music from the 90‘s played a big role in my life. I now live in the city which I dreamed to visit as a kid. Lanegan‘s music has been a near constant in my life. This memoir is brutal, harsh, and honest. This isn‘t a glamorous story of rock and roll, but a story of addiction, pain, and loss. I listened to the audiobook which Lanegan reads himself. Hearing his painful story from his own worn and gravelly voice was an experience I recommend
