Last day of March Break, and it‘s a dull rainy one. Almost 60% done with this cringy read. The characters are very online?? And I thought I was too, but had some trouble following along. A bit more graphic than my usual, but it‘s a page turner. I like that the people the story follows are connected.

Miraculously just finished this one with an hour to spare, and it‘s so far out of my comfort zone I don‘t know what to say except I liked it?? I stayed up past my bedtime a few nights just to get a few more pages in and I haven‘t done that in ages.

Absolutely adored her first book no one tells you this and I can‘t wait to rip into this one.

I think I‘m late to the bandwagon but I‘m reading this on HOOPLA???? Supported by my local library??? I‘m not sure what this app is, but there are also movies and comic books? I didn‘t have to wait several months to read this book?? Anyone else use hoopla?

Reading was not a priority last year, and I want to change that. I really enjoyed my epistolary journey, and I‘m going to sprinkle a few more throughout 2025. Good luck to everyone out there. Happy New Year.

Happy Canada day. Just started this last week and it‘s incredible so far.

Haven‘t finished a book in what feels like months, so I‘m trying to plug along with my epistolary journey. I‘ve had to read this one on my computer because it shows the actual pages of her journal and I couldn‘t see it on my kobo. Only downside.

It‘s a beautiful day and I‘m hanging on the balcony after work. In between Dracula daily I‘m reading this book from one of my favs!

Ok so I didn‘t get through a witching year in time despite enjoying it. I can‘t renew it because my city got hacked ?? The government is basically shut down and now I can‘t access the library? Well now after a week I can access Libby, but not partner libraries which is where most of my ebooks are held. So this one was available instead. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Got curious based on the tagline: a memoir of earnest fumbling through modern witchcraft. I borrowed from the library a little early for this one, so I don‘t have a ton of time with it. 🤞 I‘m disciplined to get through it. 8 people are waiting.

Really like the idea, not so sure about the execution. Should finish this tonight. Story told partially through tweets, so I‘m kinda on for my theme this year.

I AM DOING A THEME YEAR!! It‘s apparently been 8 months since I‘ve been here, and I‘ve felt it. Didn‘t make my reading goal for the first time in ten years, so back to this app and reading to try again. My theme is letters, diaries, notes and journals! I wanna be real nosey and get epistolary!! Any recommendations would be helpful! These were my first two reads of 2024.

I‘ve been on the biggest reading slump this past month, and today it‘s dull and rainy and I‘m gonna finish this.

Reading this very accessible history while in the bath is definitely self care.

I don‘t think I‘m smart enough for this book. The writing is superb. Roxane Gay had some nice things to say about this book and I‘ve been slacking on reading women of colour this year.

The vibes were off from the beginning and I‘m telling you, I knew something was up. It wasn‘t until the second to last excruciatingly long page that he casually mentions he should go home because HIS WIFE IS PREGNANT!! I knew it!!!! Rotten. 🤢

I know e readers aren‘t for everyone, and I clearly see the downside, but here I am before an ice storm charging just in case. 🤞

Deeply personal essays that are very honest and expose the everyday fat phobia she‘s encountered.

Wow new year same me, although actually finishing a skip the line loan in the allotted days is unusual. Leaving it with four hours to go….one of my toxic traits. Also these short stories are so good. Hype is real.

I see the reviews of this one aren‘t great, but I actually really enjoyed it. The dialogue seemed really natural??? She is very messy, and I liked the attempts at redemption.

It‘s been a while, just wanted you to know it was a very dramatic end to my 2022 reading challenge and I barely made it. Obit was incredible. I read two books of poetry, a graphic novel, and Sam Irby‘s essay.

Also I fished this last week and it was really interesting, I think I liked this one, premise was good and I am a sucker for heavy character driven books.

Looks like more rain today, I‘ve got nothing going on.

Gotta buckle in and finally finish this. It‘s alright??? Half way through and hoping for more.

Evening plans

Enjoying the last bits of summer, did some planning for school outside and now that I‘m finished, time for my reward. It‘s been a hectic few weeks back at it, but I‘m hanging in there.

I read the first few books in university (just a few years ago 🤣🤣), and I finally decided I need my own copy. This is the book from the Canadian chain Chapters, and it has the first 20 stories included. Good bang for my buck.

Did some poolside reading last night and finished this one quickly. Enjoyed the two different perspectives.

On my second week of summer break and I remember Roxane Gay giving this one a good review. Had no idea what it was about, but I‘m really liking it and it‘s going fast - which is good cause I‘m five books behind on my reading challenge.

Was really stricken by the cover. I need to know what her deal is, she‘s seen some things. Of course with famous musician parents I expect some tea.

It‘s too hot to do anything, so I‘ve parked myself in front of my glorious electric AC and I‘m finishing this. It‘s really good.

I get a lot of reading done during the playoffs. I‘m counting on it this year because I‘m two books behind on my challenge. I like to watch games with the volume low so I don‘t get too distracted.

Went with my book bestie to our favourite local store for Indie book store day yesterday. Was a beautiful day and I was very overdue for a book date. Also going out in public. I also purchased the tagged book, looks interesting!!
