I've been fretting and preoccupied by the fires on the west coast, including the entire mountain I grew up on being evacuated. So I reached for a happily ever after story about a bride who might be falling for her professional bridesmaid.

Ruthiella @ReadingEnvy I am near Los Angeles. I live far enough away from forested areas that I am not in danger but can smell and see the smoke. Ash is everywhere. 4y

ReadingEnvy @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick yes. My mom moved into town in April so someone else lives in my childhood home. My sister was in a level 1 evac zone but the smoke was so bad she went to stay with a friend in Vancouver. My stepmother inlaw just found out her house at the beach didn't burn down. And where I grew up, they have started letting people return. Only barns burned down. I'm relieved but in pain for others who have suffered loss. ♥️ 4y
