Books I could be reading? Yes.
Audiobooks to listen to? Also yes.

Did I just spend time working on a #192025 tracker & planner because spreadsheets look like important work? Also yes.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Texreader Yes! It was in one of the middle freezer aisles, with a box of 2. I defrosted at room temperature & baked it in the oven. It did need about 4 minutes longer than suggested to get the cheese extra melty in my oven. 2w

My summers as a kid were full of playing outside & taking a roadtrip with the family. As an adult, my guy & I are more into urban exploration; road trips; meals outdoors with friends; outdoor events like concerts, baseball, and beer festivals; poolside margaritas with his mom; taking the dog out until he sits like a person & we have to carry him home; and sometimes work sends me to the too hot FL or TX inns.

📚Litsy, Hoopla, Libby, Kindle, Libro, Goodreads, the occasional KU listen on Audible, & Google Play books rarely. I also follow bookish profiles on FB, IG, & Twitter.
📚Multiple times a week, if not daily.
📚Since you're already on Litsy, I recommend Hoopla if your library offers it. Lots of different media to borrow, no waiting, and many cultures are represented. Mine even has 3 week borrow times!

This was a May Bonus Borrow from Hoopla and since I tag it often for #BookSpinBingo, I felt obligated to give it a read.

Hazel & Mari meet in a NJ school in the 1960s. This graphic novel takes us through the story of their forbidden love. It's sweet & hopeful, if a bit too short and tidy. A quick read perfectly suited to Pride month.

My reset goals are simple... read and lose 5 pounds. Since weightloss is my ultimate goal, I am finally giving myself a small loss goal to strive for. Doing yoga, new recipes, mealprepping...it only works when it all comes together. Giving myself 1 small goal will hopefully remind me to make healthy choices everyday.

Yes, I did just put my current weight on the internet. I'm going for accountability & easy tracking.

After about 5 weeks of slacking off, I need to get back into the swing of things. My muscles & joints feel a bit tight already from all my inactivity. I found a few 30-Day challenges to target arms, abs, thighs, and booty so I'll see how far I get with that. Starting this today with the little reading time I have this weekend.

Shortly after we got Watson, he must've felt that books took attention away from him (or he was just an inquisitive little puppy). He went to the bottom shelf of a bookcase, pulled this book from its shelves, and tore the back cover into little pieces. He wasn't a chewer, just a ripper. It was a fun afternoon putting this puzzle together.

This was a fun enemies-to-lovers/second chance romance. Told in alternating POVs, this spicy tale tells us about Ambrosia & Chase then and now. Then: a semi-public sex scandal. Now: a lingering penchant for semi-public sex. Chase used to be BFFs with Ambrosia‘s brothers, so he calls her “Bro”. In her current life, she prefers “Sia”, leaving Ambrosia behind. My biggest gripe is that any way you cut it, the heroine‘s name feels cheesy. ⬇️

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I appreciated that the reason they‘re enemies was a result of a legitimate shitty encounter and not just someone taking the other‘s parking space or some dumb contrived reason to hate one another. Chase id now a billionaire & bought the company Sia works for, thrusting them back into each other's lives. There‘s some witty banter between the two, some of it kind of weird, but it was a fun way to spend a few hours.

Since many of you are participating in #nationalpoetrymonth I figured it's a good time to pull it out of the closet and give it a go. Another fun murder mystery from the Grand Dame Agatha Christie. I wasn't certain who-dun-it, but I had my suspicions and I was correct. If I learned anything from trying The Mysterious Affair at Styles on audio, it is that I need to actually read these books to help keep the people straight. Sure, I needed a cheat sheet early on to help me remember who each person was in relation to the others, but it all came together for me ⬇️

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick about 1/3 of the way into it. Hercule Poirot is smart with a bit of jaded sass that I find quite enjoyable. I can't say this gave me a good sense of place within Egypt since we're on a boat and all, but it was an interesting journey down the Nile.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! I can't imagine listening to Christie (or any mystery, really!) on audio! I would get lost sooo fast! 3mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Cinfhen Thanks! Not gonna lie...I may have swatches saved on my phone and open my art app to make collages and check for matches. 😁 3mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @TheAromaofBooks Christie on audio wasn't one of my finest ideas, but we live and we learn! 🤣 3mo

I liked this, but didn't love it. While it was atmospheric and the remote setting was like its own character, ultimately I wanted a little more than what we got. When the village's men are taken by the sea, the women must step up to ensure their people can carry on living. Add to it men who just can't imagine women will do just fine on their own and considering those with different customs as witches, well...it all makes me a little stabby. ⬇️

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick As you would expect from a society without many men of a marriageable age, there is a little bit of sapphic love here.

What I learned: That Salem, MA wasn't the only place where witches were hunted. I don't know why I assumed it was just a puritanical USA-thing.

Here we go with my ideal TBR for April but I'll be lucky if I get to half of these. For the books that didn't make the cut, there's always Free Spaces and May (and June and...). 🤣

I'm getting some strong spring/The Enchanted April vibes with this graphic. Now if Mother Nature would just act like it's spring here in NJ, I'd be a lot happier.

2022 is the year I will read the entire Cemetary of Forgotten Books series. I remembered some details but not all, so I gave this one a listen to refresh my memory on the more secondary characters.

Still just as good, perhaps better the second time around.

Well, even reading 13.5 books doesn't get me a bingo nor my bookspin or doublespin completed this month! 🤣 Oh well, maybe in April.
