pickIt was depressing in bits because of how clearly Mussell lays out how women's main purpose in society is to be nurturing to spouse and children. I keep reminding myself that society has changed a lot since the 1980s. However, I think it's still true that the quality of nurturing is said to be important but in practice it is not.
