I'm a bit disappointed. I really really enjoyed the first book in the series. Yes, it was a romance, but it was also a very good fantasy story. I was hoping for this to be more of the same.
It wasn't. This is mostly a romance... And l'm not a romance reader. Maybe this is why l kept hoping something would happen. It is possible that lots was happening in the romance department, only l wasn't overly interested. As a fantasy novel it was very weak.
Just started this and already enjoying it.
It's the final book in the trilogy Magic in Manhattan. I read the first and lived it: great characters, beautiful historical setting, so vivid and authentic, and a tight, involving plot.
I expect the same from this 😊
Some books just leave you feeling happy. WONDERSTRUCK does a good job of wrapping up the plot begun in SPELLBOUND, but it‘s one of those happy-making books because of its found family. I‘m all aglow over how Therin pushes them past their justified fears and into some truly special connections. I‘ve been smiling about it for days.
I‘d love it if her next project were a sequel series so I can see everyone again, but whatever it is, I‘ll read it.
I meant to read WONDERSTRUCK in January, but I ran out of time, then took February off from Americans, then wasn‘t in quite the right mood at the start of March. I‘m there now, though! It‘s been a while since I read the first two books in the series, but Therin makes it easy to sink back in. It‘s awfully nice to see these characters again.
Also nice: grilled cheese with mango & chilli pickle. It‘s my new go-to.
I‘m gonna post a book (or series) from my TBR every day until I‘ve shared the lot. No descriptions. No explanations. Just a whole bunch of books I haven‘t read yet.
This is Day 3.
