I don't feel any connection to the story, and especially the main character, who doesn't inspire me any sympathy.
I've read other readers had this problem with the main character, which means the thing won't go any better.
So l prefer to give my time to other stories.

Pity. The premise was great.

Based on a true life story, this book looked fascinating & the cover was a real draw. It could have been a really good read too, except I hated the MC, In the book, William is misogynist, boorish, rude, & hubristic. It really spoiled the book for me as I really didn't like reading about him. It was a shame as the book itself is well-written & atmospheric. 2⭐
