Catching up with my prompts! Here's one set near where I live. When I look at the Falls I can't believe she went over in a barrel! #setnearwhereyoulive #riotgrams

PurpleyPumpkin Yes, that was a crazy stunt! I can't believe so many people tried it. 😳 7y

Pickpick

Finely detailed illustrations accompany this fascinating picture book about the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel. It was 1901, she was 62 and hard up for money when she came up with the idea of a daredevil stunt. Recommended for all ages.

When Annie took the stage beside her barrel, the audience was confused. Could this person in front of them, this grandma, really be the brave and fearless Mrs Taylor who dared to ride over the waterfall? Everyone seemed to find the oak barrel more interesting than the woman who had ridden inside it.
