This was by no means a typical example of crime fiction. But I enjoyed it.

Four old friends meet up for a hunt in the Icelandic highlands, where a sudden snowstorm forces them to take shelter in a cabin. What they find there triggers a series of drastic actions and revelations, with fatal consequences. Alternating perspectives become a little repetitive at times, but the claustrophobic tension ratchets up until something has to give. Some Scandinavian noir to add a little chill to your day.
For the first 80% or so of this book, I was enjoying it, good pace, intrigue, tension. But the ending just felt like a bit of an anticlimax - not so much that actual solution, but the delivery. Slightly disappointed as I have enjoyed Jónasson‘s novels previously.
A classic tale of secrets among friends. Secrets that are worth killing for and no one in this small group of 4 friends can be trusted. This is written I believe as a suspense, though it lacks that profound nail biting quality. The ending also leaves something to be desired as it ends without a real resolution.
This was a quick read and suspenseful, but more of a borrow than a buy. Still, nice to be reading about winter when it‘s really hot outside 😅
