9 posts | 34 read | 4 to read
WINNER OF FOURTEEN EISNER AWARDS. FABLES: ARABIAN NIGHTS (AND DAYS) opens a new front in the struggle between the Fables and the Adversary as the worlds of the Arabian Fables are invaded-leading to an unprecedented diplomatic mission to Fabletown and a bad case of culture shock! This seventh volume of the popular Vertigo series also includes "The Ballad of Rodney and June," the 2-part story of forbidden love among the Adversary's wooden soldiers, and features stellar Art by Mark Buckingham, Steve Leialoha, Jim Fern, Jimmy Palmiotti and Andrew Pepoy. Collects issues #42-47 in Bill Willingham-s Eisner Award-winning Vertigo series.

Interesting volume. Introduction of the Arabian tales characters. Some development in the spy networks on each side. Frau Totenkinder is badass with the Djinn. Kind of on the nose that her name translates to dead children...

This series is so fun and so easy to read! I'm already on Volume 7 and I started the series yesterday... 🙈

Zelma 😂 they are really addictive! They lose a little steam after the first major arc is resolved but the series is worth sticking with solely for one of the later volumes Cubs in Toyland. That is one of my favorite volumes in the entire series. ❤️ 8y
cleoh @Zelma good to know! I really liked this one, and the one with the wooden soldiers! (edited) 8y

Really a transitional volume in the series. It felt like mostly setup for what's ahead, and I'm not sure a whole volume needed to be devoted to setup. But it wasn't lengthy, and I have volume 8 ready to go!

Getting started on the next few volumes of Fables... first time reading comics on my Kindle. It feels a bit cramped. At least there won't be pages missing, which has happened a couple times with library copies!

I loved this volume!! It included a peek into a Fables homeland that was different from the pretty much all-white European version, and I loved that there's different Homelands for different cultures. It really broadens the world. The story at the end about the two wooden soldiers was also good, and slightly creepy. Love this series!
