I loved the premise of this book and thought it was a super fun/quick read. It did tug on my heart strings! Aly‘s growth from beginning to end was written beautifully. You could definitely argue that she was unlikable due to the description of her business, but I promise you that you will be cheering for her by the end. There is just something special about the childhood friends to lovers trope for me, so I really enjoyed that aspect of the book.

Closed door romance that I fell asleep? checked out? while reading... only to realize I was 70 pages past what I remembered. I could have just been too tired to be reading or maybe my mind was elsewhere but the book didn't immediately hold my attention. Kinda felt like a female play on Will Smith's Hitch in a lot of ways. I lost interest during the beginning of the book, it just wasn't drawing me in. I kept going because I always try to finish a story. Somewhere along the way, I got invested in the characters. Every mistake they made had me beating my head against the wall. The ending of the book made me stay up late reading because I had to know how it all worked out.

Quick read (270pages) of one woman‘s issue with basically doing all the work. At work and relationships. Or at least, getting so caught up in who they could be that she lost who they were now. The romance was sweet, but pushed a bit too hard on the past. My view changed along the way with Aly; encouraging men to change for their gf/wife to what they want. That it‘s okay to want who they could be, but you need to be want them for who they are now

I really hope I‘ll continue to like Aly as much as I do her introduction throughout the book. Glad she‘s got these good friends showing her she‘s been dating projects, that there are real people worth her time out there. That she‘s spending so much time improving her dates that she lost herself in the process. That that‘s why dating so exhausting - so much Time and energy on fixing them

While the premise of this British feminist rom-com is rather questionable, I enjoyed it overall. Aly, who is an under appreciated employee at a marketing firm, has a reputation as a do-gooder (“fixer”). She has bolstered and encouraged her ex boyfriends‘ lives, yet she hasn‘t found her own key to success and HEA. She is talked into (by her work friends Tola and Eric) forming an underground “fixer” service for boyfriends/husbands. With their 🔻
