Not a bad book, dragged in alot of places, but the storyline was good
At first I didn‘t think I was going to enjoy this book, but the further I got into it the more I enjoyed it, it definitely grows on you. I was rather annoyed with Callie‘s actions at times, but these are as a result of her misreading the situation in a big way. Not advised for new step parents to read this book 😂, step away from the book now! A big twist to the end that I didn‘t see coming, & still not sure I understand the motivation.
My first comment when the audio finished was "what the f*ck!" Ok ... 15 year old child treats you like crap for a year so you take the fall for them so you can "finally be a mom". NO!
Also if you are an author and are going to write about mental illness of ANY kind make sure you do your research and get your information correct. I hated the MC and felt bad for her husband and all the shit he had to deal with her because she tried to protect him.
The main character is seriously annoying! You know how much f*cking stress would be relieved if you would just f*cking open your damn mouth and tell your husband what a shit his child is? UGH! You aren't helping anything!
Only 2 hours left.
Soccer tryouts and audio introverting
The main character is still annoying.
This one is REALLY starting to piss me off. The lead character, for the sake of her marriage, won't tell her husband what assholes his sons are being to her. Nor will she tell anyone else purely because it might stress her husband. In the meantime she's going batshit crazy. Also bi-polar doesn't progress like say Alzheimer's so asking someone or say to someone that their bi-polar could be progressing doesn't work. Mostly I want to slap the MC.
This story did not go the way I thought it would. I call that a win. You know from the beginning the main character, Callie, has been arrested for murder. You don't know whose murder. The story unfolds from there. Definitely some cringeworthy actions on her part along the way and the story is from her point of view. An easy, interesting, enjoyable read to the very end.
