This tagged book comes to mind. Growing up, I only learned about one type of history at schools. When I started my undergrad, I was blown away when I took my first Chicano class and became aware that there's more to the history that we were taught. I didn't know much about the history of my people here in the US. This book was one of the many that introduced me to it and inspired me to change my major.
