Notice on the white board in the bottom illustration, there is a positive note. I really enjoy this extra detail.

This book would be a good book for students who may not like to read as much or have a difficult time getting motivated to read. I think this book opens up conversations about the use of different pronouns or same-sex couples. I think this is something that would be at parents' discretion but, it is not a big chunk of the book that would need pre-teaching.
Cool Code by Deirdre Langeland was an interesting book about a middle school girl starting at a new school. I think this book would be good for the grades 4th-8th grade. I think these ages would like the book because it is a quick and easy read, but also is up with the times. It could be interesting to this age group because a main chunk of the book is about making and using an app with coding, while also incorporating humor and relatable context
Having been homeschooled by her coder parents for years, Zoe isn‘t quite sure how to fit in in middle school. She develops an app to help her be cool. I really liked the story and illustrations, but found the resolution really quick and rushed feeling.
4⭐️ This was a really fun and interesting graphic novel. Zoe has been homeschooled her entire life and is now going to school for the very first time in the middle of a semester during middle school. Zoe‘s parents are coders, and she learned from them. She developed her own app, called the cool code to help her in every day life to be a better person than she already is. But her original app is not as good or work as well as it should. ⬇️
