It's time to uncover the truth of what really happened to old Chet Charles, how the Eidolon was created ...and what it has to do with Jane's mother in the final volume of the hit series! THE SECRETS OF THE OTHERWORLD ARE REVEALED. It's time to uncover the truth of what really happened to old Chet Charles, how the Eidolon was created ...and what it has to do with Jane's parents. But as Heather, Jane, and their increasingly improbable team come face to face with the terrible truth of Spectrum, they'll be forced to make choices that will forever change their futures - or totally, literally blow up in their faces and ensure they have no futures. No pressure or anything. Eisner Award-nominated writer John Allison (Giant Days) and artist Christine Larsen (Adventure Time) conclude the epic exploration of friendship, family and the get-rich-quick schemes that bond us all together most of the time. Collects By Night #9-12.

Mehso-so

I dunno... it left room for the possibility of revisiting these places, these characters, but all three volumes were completed in 2019 so it doesn't feel like an ongoing series.
If I'm to take the three volumes as a finished arc, it seem like a rushed, not totally satisfying, ending.

Robotswithpersonality Also, as much as there were some monster-y bits in the previous couple of volumes, there was a pretty gruesome moment in this one I wasn't expecting. To each their own yuck level, but I'm not sure I'd recommend this to younger teens.
I'll have to poke around John Allison's other work, see if these uniquely weird vibes show up again.

Ah, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971), dipping into the classics, I see. I miss Gene Wilder.
