Jumped into one of my #trappedinaspookyhouse books a bit early.
Happy to have this one off my shelf. It was a perfectly fine story with the humour you expect from the Ferguson brothers but it wasn‘t enough for me to keep going with the series.

This was cute, maybe a little too cute, and a quick and easy read. Enjoyable enough in places, it also felt like a send-up of the cozy mystery, while exploiting the same to further itself, if that makes sense? I 100% do not buy that the self-absorbed, twee and selfish FMC would suddenly twig to the murderer, either. Not sure I‘d bother continuing with the series.
Changing it up to something a little lighter for the weekend…
In the words of the Deedles, this one was so diculous it was re-diculous. But it knows it and thoroughly enjoys its own ridiculousness, so I couldn't help but have fun with it, too.
Total palate cleanser read!
This read like it was trying to be Schitts Creek-y. While the characters were largely endearing, I wasn‘t sold on the mystery.
This is a cozy mystery set in the world of small town theatre and a bookstore. It features Miranda, who played a crime solving pastor in a hit TV series years ago. Now broke, she still thinks of herself as an entitled star. After receiving a mysterious post card, she ends up faced with a real murder to solve. I really enjoyed this humorous book and all the quirky characters and look forward to more in the series. It was delightful fun! 4.25
