Hidden Lives of Owls: The Science and Spirit of Nature's Most Elusive Birds
Hidden Lives of Owls: The Science and Spirit of Nature's Most Elusive Birds | Leigh Calvez
2 posts | 1 read | 1 reading | 5 to read
A naturalist probes the forest, mainly at night, to comprehend the secret lives of owls in this book that will appeal to readers of "Crow Planet "and "H is for Hawk." Join Leigh Calvez on adventures into the world of owls: owl-watching, avian science, and the deep forest often in the dead of night. These birds are a bit mysterious, and that s part of what makes them so fascinating. Calvez makes the science entertaining and accessible while exploring the questions about the human-animal connection, owl obsession, habitat, owl calls, social behavior, and mythology."

#riotgram #riotgrams Day 17: #freebie! When I was a kid, my mom had this pair of owl bookends I loved to bits and pieces. I always thought I'd inherit them, but when she died, they were nowhere to be found. I've been looking for them online ever since. This set (pictured) is marble. My mom's set was heavy, but not marble, and they were painted. I'd buy the pretty marble ones if I could, though.
