Pickpick

This is a great account of a remarkable life. It describes Annie Kenney's early life, growing up in a big family and working in the mills; her strong personality and gift for persuasive argument; and how she became one of the leaders of the Suffragette movement. It also conveys the bravery and personal sacrifice of the activists, and the divisions within the movement. I really enjoyed this.

Off to the pictures. He's going to see Oppenheimer. I'm going to see Barbie. Barbie is an hour shorter than Oppenheimer. Which means I get an hour in the pub reading. This Barbie is winning.
