Mickey Chambers Shakes It Up
Mickey Chambers Shakes It Up | Charish Reid
2 posts | 2 read
A heartfelt opposites-attract romance... Publishers Weekly Total opposites. Totally irresistible. Mickey Chambers is an expert at analyzing modern literature. But when it comes to figuring out her own story, shes feeling a little lost. At thirty-three, shes an adjunct instructor with a meager summer class schedule and too many medical bills, courtesy of her chronic illness. Picking up a bartending gig seems perfect. Sure, Mickeys never done this before, but the gorgeous, grumpy bar owner, Diego Acosta, might be the perfect man to teach the teacherif he wasnt so stressed. Diego is worried hes running his late wifes bar into the ground. Add the pressures of returning to college part-time at forty-two, and its no wonder hes making rash decisions. Like hiring the sunny, sexy woman who looks more at home in a library than slinging beers to rowdy barflies, and who turns out to be teaching his online writing course, a complication neither was expecting Its not long before Mickey starts reenergizing The Saloon with cocktails, karaoke and an optimism even Diego cant ignore. They need to fight their feelings if they want to keep things professional, but all it takes is one sip, one kiss, to shake both their worlds forever

This was cute. It has a good balance between sweet, and uplifting heavy. Mickey has hyperthyroidism and Diego is a widower who hasn't had a date since his wife passed 5 years ago.
I listened to the audio and it happened to get really 🌶️🌶️ while I was in checkout at Costco 😂

Overall it was a bit too positive and basic for me, the writing was a bit stilted and took a min, but it does totally hit a cute spot so I am calling it a pick.

ChaoticMissAdventures I always find these types of books hard to judge when I come out of reading**literature** which makes me feel like such a snob, this book was good it just takes me a few books like this to get into the lighter language flow. 4mo

Fun and funny read. There were a lot of laugh out loud moments along heartfelt dialogue.
