If you want a fun, spooky, fantasy adventure that won't take up an entire bookshelf, The Face in the Frost ought to be right up your alley. It's fun, it's spooky, and it really deserves a lot more attention.

That about sums me up. 😉 But really, this here's a thrilling and charming read. The world-building in this slim volume lacks the minute detail of other fantasy novels, yet it feels (almost defiantly) thorough nonetheless. Advanced technique: imagine the two elderly wizard BFFs being played by Sirs Ian Mc and Pat Stew. Been a while since I've read any fantasy not set in the Discworld. Any other recs?
