Got a fair bit finished this week but the unfinished books are haunting me. Apropos for October, I guess! #bookreport #weeklyforecast @Cinfhen

#BookReport
I finished nothing this week although I did get pretty far into Dark Run. I've also pretty much given up on last week's forecast.

#WeeklyForecast
Decided that since I wasn't really sticking to forecast at all anymore I'd change up my plans and put in my October #DoubleSpin and a different backlist pick on deck. Goal is to finish Dark Run and maybe get a decent way into Wizard of Earthsea.

Is the #WeeklyForecast looking unrealistically optimistic? Of course it is! I love having the windowsill stuffed! 😂 October books are IN and that tiny bit of extra space I had is now but a memory. The post-it notes that you can't really read are my Kindle books on the left, and then three sheets that are my #Scarathlon #BookSpinBingo books that I'll be mixing in with my other stuff, but since I do actually want to be able to kind of see out this⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) window, I decided not to physically pull them out just yet!

My current plan is to read as many of these in October as I can, then in November I am going to focus completely on progressing/finishing series. I seem to be in the middle of about ten of them, which drives me crazy. If anyone is interested in a low-key November series-reading challenge, let me know!

For now, off to finish the tagged book!!

I‘ve started Northanger Abbey #PemberLittens and will start the tagged or at least the stories #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead

Then I want to read the other books.

I‘ve seen some mixed reviews for Treacle Walker so curious to find out where I stand. The Cost of Living is the second book in Levy‘s “living biography” and I loved her first one. And I want to finish my reading of Sandman, at least the volumes I already own.

I‘m enjoying the reimagined European folktales by Sharon Blackie and I started In Defense of Witches on audiobook. I hope to finish both this week. I think Revelator will be my next print book. It‘s Southern Gothic recommended to me by the owner of my local indie bookstore. I‘ve been sitting on it since February, waiting for October. #weeklyforecast

Nothing finished this week…yet. I have so many choices, I don‘t know what I‘ll read next! #bookreport #weeklyforecast #readingretreat

#WeeklyForecast - one week until October's books get added and look - there is actually a TINY BIT OF SPARE SPACE on the Windowsill of Optimism!!! This past week has been absolute madness and this week shows no real signs of that letting up, so I am wedging in reading wherever I can, but there has definitely been a big drop-off on my social media/book review action! Only so much bandwidth in my brain 😂

@Cinfhen

janeycanuck I really love the nickname Windowsill of Optimism. I may have to “leverage“ it for myself. 1w
TheAromaofBooks @janeycanuck - Thank you!! It's REALLY helped me this year to have my immediate TBR/challenge books all in one place, very visible. Of course I'm always hopelessly behind, which is where the optimism part comes in 😂 1w
julieclair I really need to set up my own equivalent of your Window of Optimism. Right now, I have little stacks of the current month‘s books all over the house, which leaves me feeling kind of scatterbrained. 🤪 5d

TheAromaofBooks @julieclair - This year I have put them all in one place, and then I also have each of these books in my jar and draw from it at random to see which of these comes next. So it's a mix of “assignments“ and randomness, with a splash of mood reading if I feel like it since I seem to always have several genres going on here at once 😂 I'm reading from this for October, then clearing the decks - November is going to be focused on completing series ⬇ 5d
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) since I seem to be embroiled in WAY TOO MANY and then December will be fluffy Christmas/holiday romances for #WinterGames - I'll never actually finish my TBR, but it has been fun to feel like I'm making some progress on it!! 5d
julieclair I‘ll never actually finish my TBR either…. and I think I actually like it that way. I like the idea of a random draw for the books without fixed “read by” dates, such as my IRL book clubs. Thanks for the inspiration! 😀 5d

All around good reading week despite the disaster of leaving my current reads in someone else's car for 48 hours. Went a little off forecast but still managed to finish one of my goals.

#WeeklyForecast
Goal this week is to finish through part 2 in OaFK. Then get a little bit into Dark Run as it's a library book.
