pickIt took me a long time to finish this series of short stories as they were often challenging or were somewhat bleak in their outlook. They deal with modern society including our impact on the earth, and sometimes wander into speculative fiction. Standouts were the title story - of an offshore ship providing abortions, and the story “2020” - a pandemic story told from the perspective of a family of Covid deniers. A thought provoking collection.
