2nd book finished for #20In4

A very cleverly written book by Janice Hallett. My favourite would still be the Appeal, but this was another very good read with some twists and shocks as you read the book. Love how it is told through messages and course assignments. I would recommend this.

Started the latest Janice Hallett book for #20in4.

Love the way her books are told through online messages, text messages, etc. A great way to build a context for a mystery and the books usually build one as they go along, and all about the interplay between the characters. Thoroughly recommend The Appeal.

A story so twisty, I had to restart it as soon as I finished. Excellent audio, highly recommended.

Hallett stands out as a star in storytelling. In The Examiner, the story unfolds as a collection of Doodle messages, WhatsApp, etc. the story involves a group project (horror unto itself), and a clash of artists…or a chaotic scheme of mixed-up-meddling madness (with mystery). Hallett must be read to be appreciated. Awarded with distinction.

This might be my favourite Hallett yet? She‘s such a master at constructing an interesting mystery and then presenting it in just the most imaginative way!

A very enjoyable and cleverly written epistolary style mystery. I didn‘t always know what was going on, the plot is quite complex but it all came together at the end. Not my favourite book by this author but still a worthwhile read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A library book. I‘ve read the author‘s previous three books and very much enjoyed them.

I didn‘t think the concept for this one was as strong or interesting as Alperton Angels BUT I was still glued to the pages and was successfully lead up and down several garden paths, without ever really being suspicious in the right direction… which doesn‘t happen to me all that often - another well crafted story from Janice Hallett.

I hadn't planned to read this on my lunch today, but then the reserve came in and I couldn't resist diving right into it!

Hallett‘s books are always a crazy ride! This one wasn‘t my favorite but I still liked it and flew through it. The style of telling the story through emails, texts, memos, reports, etc is fun to read between other denser books.

Not my favourite of hers, but I just love Hallett's style and was nevertheless completely entertained. Our was at times a little too convoluted, but again it was just so fun that I'm okay with it. Works as a palate cleanser between heavier reads!

I won‘t say much about this since it doesn‘t publish until Sept. 10th 🤐🙊🫢 BUT! I will say that I give it a strong ‘Pick‘ and that once you finish this book you‘re going to want to flip back to page 1 and re-read it 🕵️‍♀️🔎👣👣👣

Is it possible to be burned out on a Monday? Or is there a different term for what I‘m feeling 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 Celebrating that I made it through the day with a little wine and some ARC reading time 🙌 Hoping tomorrow is less dumb 🙄🤞

I just discovered The Examiner is coming out this year. September is going to be lit! 💡📚
