Summer won't last forever. Sage Byrd has lived in the coastal town of Spunes, Oregon (not to be confused with Forks, Washington) her entire life. She's learned to love her small world, with the misfit animals on her hobby farm, and her friendships with the towns inhabitants. But when her 5-year relationship ends and her ex, town-golden-boy Ian, suddenly gets engaged, Sage needs a winsomething that will convince everyone to stop pitying her all the time, and to put Ian in his place. The Festival of Spunes, the towns annual summer competition, would be the perfect opportunity. She just needs a partner. Fisher Lange was a hotshot chef in New York City until the loss of his sister left him numb, grieving, and responsible for his teenage niece Indy. When Fisher loses his Michelin star along with his love of cooking, his boss sends him and Indy to Spunes on a much-needed summer sabbatical to consult on a restaurant opening. But when clashes with the townspeople threaten his last chance to redeem himself and a kiss with his new neighbor Sage leads to dating rumors, a strategic alliance might just be the best way to turn things around. A deal is struck. Sage will improve Fishers image in the eyes of the town and remove the roadblocks he is facing with the restaurant, and Fisher will be Sages partner for the competition. But as their pact quickly turns into steamy rendezvous, emotional wounds begin to heal, and the pair tries to savor every moment, they start to realize that summer is racing by much faster than they would like... Filled with spicy summer fun, small-town charm, and Big Feelings, this highly anticipated romcom is Tarah DeWitts best yet.

Open door romance that just made me hungry as they described the food creations going into menu planning. I did really love the little jabs to her ex while they were fake dating- calling him by the wrong name etc to make a point that she was too good for him.

A pretty sweet summer read, excellent small town set up, funny banter. A pretty vibrant story. Dual POV though, both first person. A little too long and editing occasionally puzzled me. Spicy scenes read like they‘re afterthoughts but that‘s ok. Mature content.

📚ARC REVIEW 📚

Oh how I loved this book! This is the second book I‘ve read by Tarah Dewitt and I definitely plan to read all of her future books. I just devoured this book because I loved everything about it.
Fisher and Sage were just adorable and I loved everything about their relationship. Fisher accepted Sage as her quirky self and it was so cute.
Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of this novel.

I love a good small town romance and this one uses the "fake dating" trope so well. Sage is a wonderful character and how can you resist Fisher. Both characters have in-depth backstories, are highly relatable, and the side characters in the book, especially Sage's brothers, really make you feel like you are a resident of Spunes. Filled with fun and sexy scenes, lots of food references, and some of the sweetest farm animals in the world.
