'OMG!!! This book is so good! A true thriller, and so addictive, I could not stop reading... BRILLIANT!' Reader review 5 stars The phone starts vibrating in my hand. It's my father. He never calls. Pulse racing, I sit up in bed and answer. 'Caitlin,' he says. 'You need to come to the house. Right now. It's Olivia. She's back.' On the night when Caitlin and Olivia's parents leave them to go to a dinner party, both girls are full of excitement about finally being old enough to stay home alone. What they don't see is the figure watching them through the open window. Who, after the girls have fallen asleep, will turn the handle of the unlocked back door. When their parents return, they will find Olivia's bed empty. Their eldest daughter gone. Never to return. Until now. But is the woman who claims to be Olivia all she seems? Is everything Caitlin said she saw that night the whole truth? Their family have dreamed of this moment, but both sisters are keeping more than one secret. What price will they all pay if they end up believing the wrong daughter? I really enjoyed this audiobook! It could‘ve been shorter and there were some convolutions but it was really fun & I was intrigued about how it was all going to come together! I would definitely read more from this author; this was my 1st of hers. Let your inhibitions go and just enjoy this one! And I‘m so glad it was two narrators!

I don‘t know why, but I hated this book. It had so much potential. The writing was fine, and the premise very intriguing. I just couldn‘t connect with the story and the characters. I read so many great books this year, I think this one just wasn‘t it for me. The twist was obvious, as well as ridiculous. Meh. On to the next one!

DeeLew @KT1432 I‘m glad it wasn‘t just me. I saw a lot of great reviews but for some reason it just annoyed the heck out of me! 1mo

This was fairly entertaining and I was interested in understanding who was who, whether the Olivia who returned was really the kidnapped Olivia, and how the two storylines connected. The writing felt repetitive, with a weird, unnecessary plot device that I didn‘t care for and found extremely cringy. I didn‘t find the characters believable; they were almost cartoonishly ridiculous in both their cruelty and delusion. Be ready to suspend disbelief!

Welp. I joined another book box. 🙃🤣😱🫣

Aardvark has so many fun, weird, left of center picks, and the last few months of BOTM have been a bit of a let down. I‘m planning on hanging on to BOTM at least til I hit BFF status, then I‘ll feel less need not to skip. But I‘m hoping Aardvark may be a strong alternative for this self-proclaimed thriller/horror girlie.

I got another title too but I‘m hoping to get it signed this weekend. 🤞🏻🤩

TheBookHippie I definitely prefer Aardvark. 4mo

A twisty suspense novel that could get over the top at times but was a fun ride to go on. Caitlin‘s sister, Olivia, was kidnapped but then returns home 16 years later. Although Caitlin has questions and doubts about her sister, no one else seems to. It unravels from there.

The writing was compulsive and I was drawn in from the first chapter. I loved questioning everything with Caitlin and figuring out the truth.

These are the books my hubby picked up at Thrillerfest XX the thriller writers conference he attended. So many new books to read 🤪

This book seriously messed with my head in the best way. It was a twisty, intense psychological thriller that kept me on edge the whole time. The relationship between Caitlin and this maybe-Olivia was so tense and suspenseful it gave me chills.
Also, I don't quite know how I feel about the twisted nature of Elinor and her brother's relationship. It was disturbing in the exact way you would want a psychological thriller to be. I highly recommend!
