pickI‘ve read a lot of books this year and this is one of the most beautiful books I‘ve read. That this is the author‘s debut makes me so happy about her future work.
I cried and I smiled throughout this whole book, and will forever hold these characters close to my heart.
If you enjoy complex family stories and different POVs, read this!

With a lot of books out there about motherhood, Jenny Slate's Lifeform was one I could personally relate to the most. Everything is enhanced with Slate reading the audiobook herself. pickThe writing is beautiful and the sense of place is exceptional. It's a period of history that I don't know much about and the book does a great job of placing you in the setting and giving information without info dumping.
I went in expecting a horror book with vampires and I got a historical romance with a little bit of horror. My expectations were wrong and it's not really a genre I enjoy.

pickIf you like a good psychological thriller, definitely try this one. It's one of those books where it takes the entire story to figure out who's crazy, who's being gaslit, and who is actually in control of the situation.
