This was a well-written, gritty, and hopeful account of a football player's descent into addiction and back again. On a personal note, it's one of the only books that's helped me understand why rehab has never worked on my sister. I don't say that for sympathy, but instead because I've never read such a truthful account of what it's like to be an addict. Often times it's just romanticized without sharing the rest, and that's not the case here.
