This 31 volume series takes place on the fictitious U.S. Army outpost number 9 in the Wyoming Territory during the years after the Battle of the Little Big Horn. The outpost is led by Captain Warner Conway and his second in command 1st Lt. Matt Kincaid, both West Point graduates. The plots feature conflicts with Indians, cattlemen, outlaws, gamblers, Indian agents, and other troublemakers on the western frontier.
