Joe Ledger is ALWAYS a pick! Another rousing adventure with Joe as he saves the world again. This one was tough because some friends got hurt in this one. We‘ve got aliens and mind control and a dose of plague and kidnappings, beatings, and shootouts galore. Ray Porter does a fantastic job as narrator on the audio and really brings Joe to life! If you like action, suspense, and big doses of snark, Joe‘s your guy!

Texreader Sounds like it could be a new favorite author. Is it a series and if so, what should be the first book to read? (edited) 4y
CindyMyLifeIsLit @Texreader The first book in the series is Patient Zero. It‘s mostly first person narrative with Joe as an agent in a highly specialized government military intelligence agency. Maberry creates a cohesive universe with recurring characters and plot points woven throughout the series. I love it! ❤️ 4y

1. Either, as long as they‘re good. I‘ve only heard a couple with full cast, but both good. A talented single narrator can do wonders, too!
2. Right now I‘m really digging Ray Porter—he‘s awesome as Joe Ledger and really brings the character to life! I also loved Steven Weber as the narrator of IT. Nothing like having Jack Torrance read the story of Pennywise to you! 🤡🎈

BookmarkTavern You‘re a braver person than I to listen to IT! I‘d be too freaked out. 😆 Thanks for sharing! 4y

Joe Ledger #8: I recommend these on audio. Ray Porter is fantastic. Terrorists have found a new weapon to shut down power and plan to release a bioweapon. Joe and the Department of Military Sciences are fumbling every mission and losing confidence. There is mind control and things get crazy. The only negative was that I had the bad guy pegged early on. I also did some fervent praying that Maberry didn‘t kill anyone I love.
