Duck and Moose: Duck Moves In! by Kirk Reedstrom, the graphic novel, is the perfect edition to any classroom. It features a moose who is content with living by himself, and a duck who is looking for a new home. Duck decides to move into Moose's antlers and Moose is very annoyed by this. But, by the end of the story, Moose ends up loving Duck and the things they have in common.

This book follows a moose that enjoys his free and alone time, until one day, a neighbor named duck moves in. Moose tries everything to drive the duck away, but learns that it might be the best thing to happen right before the start of spring.
The book is great for emerging readers with vivid pictures and easy sentences/phrases. It is great for a small group then discussion.

My favorite part of the story is when Duck and Moose realize that they have the same favorite movie. After being enemies the majority of the story, I liked seeing them have things in common and starting a friendship.

Moose is trying to have a peaceful morning, but Duck has decided to move in on his head. Moose tries everything to get him to leave, but nothing is working. He tells Duck how he is feeling and Duck moves in somewhere else. Except that somewhere else is Moose‘s butt. When Duck finally moves somewhere else, he wants to invite Moose over to watch a movie. It turns out they have more in common than they thought. Cute story about new friendships.

I would use this book to show my students how you can still be friends with someone despite some differences!

Duck and Moose by Kirk Reedstrom was published in 2024 and is a story about a Moose who lives a peaceful life and a Duck who moves in unexpectedly and disrupts the Moose's life. Overall they end up accepting one another and navigating living together despite their differences.
