In this middle grade action fantasy tale, Wip has been locked inside a dungeon for two years, without even knowing his crime, but he has found a way out. After breaking out of his cell, he has to navigate the dangerous prison, avoiding guards, powerful mages, trolls, and more, while making alliances with fellow prisoners whenever possible. Meanwhile, in the nearby palace, the young Prince Gaderian watches as a political coup begins with the murder of his father, and he has his own escape to make, sneaking through the castle while trying not to be captured by the conspirators.With a cast of friends that they meet the along the way, the boys must find a way to escape.
