Textbook Defense (First Edition, First)
Textbook Defense (First Edition, First) | Morgan James, Ashlyn Kane
1 post | 1 read
Rowan Chadha's job as a children's librarian might be temporary, but at least it comes with adorable, hilarious patrons. When he bumps into Jordy Shaw--NHL star and super-hot dad of one of his favorite library kids--at a charity event, he suggests they team up as a fake couple to fend off unwanted attention, never expecting the connection to last. Jordy is in desperate need of a new nanny, and his daughter, Kaira, already adores Rowan. When Rowan's apartment becomes uninhabitable just as his library contract ends, Jordy offers a stopgap solution: Rowan can crash in the nanny suite in his home and help with Kaira while Jordy trains for the new season--just until Rowan lands a new job and Jordy can find permanent childcare. As the lines between fantasy and reality blur, the attraction that's been simmering between them bubbles over. But while they're free with their bodies, they struggle to defend their hearts, knowing their arrangement has an expiration date. After all, Rowan's a librarian, not a nanny, and Jordy could be traded at any moment. Their arrangement is temporary, right? Or maybe some things are worth staying for.... Textbook Defense continues the Hockey Ever After series with a fake relationship turned real and an adorable child in need of a nanny.

Romance round up - 3 m/m hockey romances

Textbook Defence - latest in the Hockey Ever After series. Not a patch on the first one as originally published, but still fun. It‘s always good to get a glimpse of Gabe & Dante.
On the Edge - I like the slow burn in this series. This one is a pretty good example of the grumpy/sunshine trope.
One Timer - I can‘t remember this much but it must have been ok because I finished it after bailing on a few.

bookandbedandtea I love a hockey romance 💘 Might give On The Edge a try! 7d
CarolynM @bookandbedandtea Me too😊 Do you have a favourite? I don‘t think you need to have read the first 2 books in this series to enjoy On the Edge, but earlier couples make frequent appearances, so it all makes more sense if you read in order. 6d
bookandbedandtea @CarolynM I recently finished, and enjoyed, the series by Tierney Rose, starting with Blindside Hit. But my favorite hockey romance (which covers some difficult topics) is Rookie Mistake by L.A. Witt & Anna Zabo. 6d
CarolynM @bookandbedandtea I enjoyed that Tierney Rose series too🙂 I used to like LA Witt, but I‘ve been disappointed in her lately. I read Rookie Mistake, but I honestly can‘t remember whether I liked it. Rachel Reid, Sarina Bowen & Catherine Cloud are my favourites. 5d
bookandbedandtea @CarolynM I'm with you, in that I don't like LA Witt as much as I used to. I read Rookie Mistake a few years ago, stumbled on it again early this year and still liked it, but I've tried some of her others since then and didn't like them much. 🤷‍♀️ I'm also a big fan of Sarina Bowen and I think I've read something from Rachel Reid. I'll look at her and Catherine Cloud. Remembered Tal Bauer also has a hockey book I like 5d
