The Koala Who Could is a Fantasy (F) picture book written by Rachel Bright and illustrated by Jim Field. This book won the Oscar‘s Book Prize in 2017. This adorable picture book is about a Koala who liked to stay in the comfort of his tree. His friends tried to get him to come play but Kevin always had an excuse as to why he couldn‘t. Throughout the story, you see Kevin step out of his comfort zone. Read the story to see how Kevin does this! ⬇️

AmeliaS21 This is a great book for Reader‘s Theatre (RT) because there are lines the other animals say that could be transformed into the correct format. The activity I chose is a cute paper bag activity. You create a Koala with the paper bag. https://iheartcraftythings.com/paper-bag-koala-craft-for-kids.html UDL 2.4 promote understanding across languages. UDL 3.2 highlight patterns, critical features, big ideas, and relationships. ⬇️ 6y

Cute art, but nothing really unique here in this story about trying new things. My daughter's reaction: meh.

Texreader What a cute koala though! 7y
night_shift @Texreader I know! The artwork was really cute, but I guess I've read one too many picture book with the same theme. Plus, definitely not a fan of rhyming. 7y

This is a gorgeous book, sturdily made, highly detailed illustration and easy 4 line rhyming story promoting courage when scared. Would be a lovely gift for a 3-5 year old. Ideal way for overseas kids to learn about weird Australian wildlife- Kevin the Koala, Wombat, Dingo, 'Roo and more.
Yes, I love it and will be buying copies as Christmas gifts
