paulettevp I love how this book shows a girl‘s bravery. Great way to teach students that children have been brave and made significant contributions to history and society. I would definitely have them do the extension activity where they create their own paper bluebonnets. 6y

ambera @Jess7 we had to use Litsy for an assignment in my children's literature class so I have the genre listed and how we would use it in a classroom. For example, F is modern fantasy, B would be biography, and P would be poetry. Some other ones are RT which is readers theater, RA is read aloud, and IR is independent reading 😊 6y

HF: This book would be perfect for students to use in literature circles. The book follows the friendship formed at a fence between two young boys during the Holocaust. The catch, one is in a concentration camp. The two boys, Bruno and Samuel, meet each day at the fence and sit in the grass facing one another. Although not appropriate for younger grades, it would be an excellent choice for 5th and 6th graders. It is a great way for them to make a
