F. RA. I picked up Mother Bruce at Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago while I was getting my independent reading book. They had it on display at the register so of course I had to buy it. This Ezra Jack Keats Honor book is a fun filled story about a bear who goes through an "identity crisis" when a few ducklings mistake him as their mother. F. AS. The Lorax by Dr.Seuss sends a powerful message to kids about how we need to take care of our planet and in return she will take care of us. We have become so careless with our waste and it is affecting our oceans and land tremendously. HF: This book would be perfect for students to use in literature circles. The book follows the friendship formed at a fence between two young boys during the Holocaust. The catch, one is in a concentration camp. The two boys, Bruno and Samuel, meet each day at the fence and sit in the grass facing one another.
