The second volume in the Normal Family Trilogy picks up this outlandish family saga in the 1970s, recounted through a series of carefully interwoven chapters featuring the cast of colorful characters. Told through multiple points of view, the story opens with a family tragedy as we see just how far the Pendergasts have fallen from their days of fame and fortune. Through a series of touching flashbacks, we learn what became of Henry, Albert, Eve, Ned, Lucy, and the servants. Their journey has not been easy, as we observe them facing an endless parade of obstacles, mostly overcome through humor and perseverance. In the end, an unforeseen tragic betrayal reshapes everything that came before in leaving the reader eager for the concluding volume in the trilogy, scheduled for 2019 publication.
