Pickpick

Strongly recommend this Kenyan novel that taught me a lot and also punched me in my emotions. Incredibly lyrical writing about memory, power and violence, and the struggle to live independently in a poor area of a country recovering from colonialism faster in some places than others. A group of people are trying to live in the ‘New Kenya‘ and we see what it does to them over 12 years. Where is this man‘s Nobel prize?
