Pickpick

After reading Stephen King‘s latest book, Later, I decided to start at the beginning with the Hard Case Crime series. Grifter‘s Game came out in 1961 and may I just say, what a great effing little book! I love the noirish vibe and the writing sucks you in from page 1. I sped through this in a couple of hours and I loved the ending. It went in a totally different direction than I expected. 5 ⭐️Highly recommend!

RamsFan1963 I love the pulpy Hard Case Crime books!! 4y
braddsibbersen Didn't realize Hard Case included classic reprints. I thought they were all contemporary authors writing in the pulp / noir style. 3y
JenlovesJT47 @braddsibbersen I didn‘t know either until I looked for a list! There‘s modern ones mixed with a lot of older ones. This one was particularly well-done and had the perfect noirish vibe. I‘m looking forward to reading more of his books! 🤓 3y
